Stumbled upon this a bit late, but figured I’d participate anyways. . . better late then never! 1 night during my summer trip across the Greek islands, I nick’d something few find nowadays. . . a door key. As unmagical as it sounds right now, at the time it felt like I had found the key to the secret garden! It wasn’t just your ordinary door key. . . it was an old fashion gordok inner door key! I brought it back and turned it into a necklace =)
I once took a post-it. Not an entire pad of sticky notes, just the one. . . and it had directions on it. . . . and was given to me by the person at the desk
This is an interesting question. I once “nicked” the Davinci code. But I did leave another book behind. I did lose my dignity in Croatia one night but I guess that was “nicked” from me. I think “nicking” from hostels is shady, and one of the reasons people avoid hostels. So let’s not promote “nicking” yet laugh at the ridiculous stories that people post.
